The MotoGP World Championship is back and it does so with one of the events most anticipated by Spanish fans: the Spanish GP, which will take place this weekend at the Ángel Nieto circuit in Jerez de la Frontera. The appointment has two proper names: Marc Márquez and Marco Bezzecchi.

The Italian (Ducati Desmosedici GP22) arrives as MotoGP leader at the Spanish Grand Prix, the scene of the return of his compatriot Enea Bastianini (Ducati Desmosedici GP23). Less fortunate has been the Spanish Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda RC 213 V), who confirmed his absence after not recovering in time from a metacarpal injury in his right hand.

“Yesterday we did another CT scan and it has been confirmed that, despite the fact that the injury (in the first metacarpal of the right hand) is evolving favourably, the bone has not yet finished healing and racing in Jerez was risky. Together with the medical team We have decided not to take risks, wait two more weeks and return to Le Mans”, confirmed the eight-time world champion in statements sent by his team.

The Spanish driver is expected to return for the French GP at Le Mans, the next World Cup event after Jerez.

Yes, Bastianini will be there, declared “fit”. The Italian injured his scapula, being involved in an accident with his compatriot Luca Marini (Ducati Desmosedici GP22). Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia (Ducati Desmosedici GP23) will also race, who will seek to make up for the mistake made at the American circuit in Austin when he was the leader of the race.

Another novelty of this Spanish GP in Jerez will be the return to competition of the triple Spanish motorcycling world champion Daniel Pedrosa, who will work as a KTM test driver after his official withdrawal from competition.

The drivers will look for the best time in the classification, which will take place this Saturday, April 29, starting at 10:50 a.m. at the Ángel Nieto circuit in Jerez de la Frontera. It can be seen on television through DAZN and RTVE and can also be followed live on the La Vanguardia website.
