The German soccer team will no longer be dressed by Adidas, after 70 years, and will have Nike as a new sponsor from 2027, with an initial 7-year contract.
“We are pleased with the cooperation with Nike and the trust they have placed in us. The alliance will allow us to take on key tasks in the coming decades regarding the development of football in Germany,” said the president of the German Football Federation (DFB). , Bernd Neuendorf, in a statement.
“It is also clear that until 2026 we will continue to work with all energy for common success with our current and long-time partner Adidas, to whom German football has so much to thank for what it has done in more than 70 years,” he added.
According to the DFB, the decision was the product of an open and transparent process in which Nike made the best financial offer.
The DFB had renewed its contract with Adidas in 2019. In their long cooperation, Germany won four world championships and three European Championships with the men’s team and two World Cups and eight European Championships with the women’s team.
