Spain is preparing to face a drastic change in its meteorological conditions this Sunday, marked by the arrival of an Atlantic front that threatens to disturb the calm of recent days. According to the latest reports from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), a drop in temperatures is expected in much of the territory, accompanied by such unusual phenomena as blood rain due to the haze.
This phenomenon with such a terrifying name, which is caused by fog, could leave precipitation mixed with dust and sand, mainly in the center and east of the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands. That is, it could rain mud in some parts of the country.
This front, coming from the west, will interrupt the meteorological stability enjoyed after the Easter storm, bringing with it dense clouds and scattered rainfall. In particular, the western regions of Andalusia, the plateaus, the eastern Cantabrian Sea and the western Pyrenees will be most affected. However, Aemet does not rule out the possibility of rain in other areas, which points to unpredictable weather for the rest of the territory.
In contrast to this panorama, the eastern end of the peninsula and the Balearic Islands will experience a less pronounced situation, with expectations of partially cloudy skies but without significant precipitation.
In fact, a slight thermal rise is expected in these regions, with temperatures that could exceed 30 degrees in points such as Murcia, Almería and Mallorca, offering a brief respite within a generally adverse context.
The forecast also details that the wind will play an important role during this interval, with different directions and intensities depending on the regions. In Galicia the southwest wind will predominate, while in the Strait of Gibraltar moderate winds from the west are expected. The Canary Islands, Aragon, Catalonia and the Balearic Islands will experience winds from the north and southeast, respectively, with gusts that could be significant, especially in the mountains of Mallorca.
