The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated warnings in up to 14 autonomous communities for this Friday, the eve of Three Kings Day, due to wind, snow, rain and waves. The day, in which numerous parades will be held throughout the country, will be marked by locally heavy rainfall in the north and northeast of the peninsula, snowfall in the mountains of the Peninsula and nearby areas, and intervals of strong wind in the Cantabrian Sea.

An Atlantic front is expected to continue its advance towards the Mediterranean, moving from west to east over the eastern half of the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, leaving abundant cloudiness and probable precipitation, snow in the mountains and nearby areas, with significant accumulations in the mountains of the northern and southeastern half.

In the north of Galicia and the Cantabrian Sea, there will be cloudy or overcast skies and locally heavy rainfall and some storms. Precipitation will be less likely in the west of the Meseta and Andalusia, Aemet predicts.

Temperatures will tend to drop generally and sharply in the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands. Frosts are expected in the Pyrenees, weaker in other mountain areas in the northern half and southeast. The maximum temperature of 15 degrees will only be exceeded in some parts of the Mediterranean and the Canary Islands. In the provinces of Castilla y León, they will not exceed 6 degrees.

The map will be filled with notices for the eve of Three Kings Day. The agency has activated alerts in up to 14 autonomous communities due to different phenomena. Specifically, in Andalusia, the wind will put Almería and Granada at risk, which will also be at risk from snow like Jaén. Coastal phenomena will put Granada and Almería at significant risk.

There are also warnings for snowfall in the Community of Madrid, Castilla y León and Aragón. These last two make a total of 7 provinces that are on alert: Burgos, León, Palencia, Segovia, Soria, Huesca and Teruel. In the Basque Country, Álava and Guipúzcoa are under a snowfall warning and, in addition, Vizcaya, like Guipúzcoa, will be under a rain warning.

At risk due to snowfall are La Rioja and Navarra. For its part, in the Valencian Community, exactly in Castellón, and in Murcia there is a wind alert, as well as in Melilla, where there is also a significant risk due to coastal phenomena.

In Catalonia, Barcelona has a rain warning due to precipitation accumulated in one hour of up to 20 mm. In Girona and Tarragona (where there is also a wind warning), there is a significant risk due to coastal phenomena; and in Lleida, they are on alert for snowfall.
