The XI Base Vilobí Solidari-Memorial Lluís Molins solidarity football tournament, held last Saturday in Vilobí d’Onyar (Girona), has exceeded its expectations for yet another year, raising 3,452 kilos of food. “We have been realistic, we have asked for the impossible and we have achieved it with a collection that marks the record of all previous editions,” the organization celebrated in a statement.

In total, 3,459 kilos of food have been collected, the highest figure collected in the 11 years of the tournament, which exceeds the food obtained in 2022 by more than 400 kilos.

“Companies and citizens have made it possible and from the organization we want to thank the support of the media that have provided us with all the support and have echoed our initiative”, celebrates the Vilobí Base Soccer, responsible for the tournament.

Now, the Onyar Solidari association will be in charge of distributing these products, intended for “the segments of the population most affected by the economic crisis” and later by that caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

In terms of sports, the Base Vilobí Solidari-Memorial Lluís Molins tournament had the participation of numerous teams from the Barça school, as well as teams such as Cellera, Sils, Angles, Riudarenes and Lloret.

This initiative of Fútbol Base Vilobí arose eleven years ago, with the objective of “providing answers to the segments of the population most affected by the crisis that, unfortunately, continues to increase year after year.”

From the entity, they remember their commitment to values such as solidarity, a task that both the Catalan Football Foundation of the FCF and also in the Emporium Games have known.
