This Sunday, emergency services rescued a man who was dragged by strong waves from the natural pool in which he was bathing into the sea, in the Tenerife municipality of Santiago del Teide. An operation that was successful thanks to the intervention of the helicopter of the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) of the Government of the Canary Islands.

As reported by the Security and Emergency Coordination Center 112, a person reported that a bather was in trouble in the sea after being swept away by the waves in the area of ??the natural pool of Isla Cangrejo, in Los Gigantes.

For his rescue, which was complex due to the state of the sea, the intervention of the GES helicopter was necessary. The man was taken to a nearby area where an ambulance from the Canarian Emergency Service was waiting for him, which took charge of his assistance and transfer to a hospital in the south of the island, where he was admitted with erosions and moderate trauma.

The fire team could not access the coastal area due to the state of the sea, but collaborated in the rescue at the time of transferring the affected person from the helicopter to the medical resource.

In addition, the Local Police collaborated with the emergency services and the Civil Guard was in charge of the corresponding procedures.

The wind and rough seas have left several incidents in the Canary Islands this weekend. Emergency services also had to intervene on Saturday on the coast of El Sauzal (Tenerife) to rescue two people, one of them a minor, who fell into the water after being hit by the sea.
