The autopsy performed on the body of the woman found inside a suitcase in an abandoned property in Vigo shows that she received a fatal stab wound, which confirms the homicidal death of the victim, according to what sources familiar with the investigation have told Europa Press.

The body is in very poor condition due to decomposition and the investigators believe, upon seeing the conditions of the body and based on the testimony of the neighbor of the nearby home, that the woman died six or eight months ago. The body was found whole and completely flexed inside the suitcase.

The suitcase was found by a delivery man last Thursday, in a lot full of weeds, and very close to a house, on Espedrigada Street in the OlĂvic city. Upon noticing the bad smell, the worker notified Emergencies and the National Police verified that, inside the suitcase – which was wrapped in plastic similar to that used to pack luggage at airports – there was a woman’s body.

The victim has not yet been identified due to the impossibility of taking fingerprints and, in fact, it has not been possible to extract them using a chemical procedure. Therefore, apart from taking DNA samples, the fingers will be sent to Madrid to a specialized laboratory equipped with the latest technology for fingerprint recovery.

According to El Faro de Vigo, a neighbor declared to the police that, in the first instance, the suitcase appeared at the door of his house and that he – without checking the material inside – moved it to the place where it was located last Thursday, February 22. All the dates explained by the neighbors coincide with the calculations made by the agents.

Investigators have been able to confirm that she is a woman in her 50s and of short stature, but these data are not enough to reveal her identity. For this reason, samples of the suitcase and plastics have been sent to a laboratory in Madrid in order to find any valid fingerprints.
