Feijóo is not surprised by the controversy created between the government of Isabel DÃaz Ayuso and the Minister of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños, due to his presence at the May 2 events organized by the Community of Madrid. He did not want to distribute the blame and despite congratulating himself that Bolaños, despite being “a lacking minister”, has a prominent place among the authorities, despite the threats not to place him in his rightful place as minister, he blamed politics to the Government of Pedro Sánchez.
“It is evident that we have spent a couple of years with a lack of institutionality on the part of the Government, with the autonomous communities, which had never been seen before,” said the president of the PP in statements to the media during the events of the Community , which he attends for the second year.
“There had never been such a great lack of institutionality, and institutional disrespect is already considered normal.” Feijóo refers to the fact that the President of the Government visits a community and does not inform the President of the Community, “who, after all, he said, is the ordinary representative of the State.
The popular leader also reproaches the Sánchez government for the fact that the ministers visit the autonomous communities and “out of delicacy or institutional respect”, they do not notify the president of the Community. That is why it seems very good to him and he is pleased that Minister Bolaños, despite being “a missing minister”, has his seat as a representative of the Government, coming to say that he would not have liked that the Government of DÃaz Ayuso had not given a government minister his rightful place.
But that does not prevent criticism of the Sánchez government that the regional presidents find out about Sánchez’s trips to their territory “through the press.” Despite everything, Feijóo’s biggest criticism of Sánchez is not only for not notifying him of his official trips as president, but also because he “uses so many public funds to campaign for the election” with the use of official falcon planes, which no longer have time to “land”, because “they are flying all day, from political act to political act”, which they consider to be “a lack of institutional respect”.
Alberto Núñez Feijóo also referred to the meeting he had with a conservative association of prosecutors, which he referred to as something within the normality, and to which no type of political interpretation can be given because, he said, he has attended meetings with other associations, as you know that other political leaders have also attended meetings with that conservative association.
The president of the PP explained that the dinner, held in a restaurant in Madrid, that is, with a public nature and no secrecy, was at the initiative of the prosecutors, and he explained to the prosecutors what his model is for the attorney general’s office. He explained to them, Feijóo stressed, that for him “the independence of the prosecution” was basic, and that he defends the “prosecutor’s career.”
He also explained to the prosecutors that his commitment is not to appoint an attorney general who has been sitting on the Table of the Council of Ministers, and that no one who has held a public or political position up to five years before can be an attorney general. Feijóo explained that after his presentation, the prosecutors asked him questions and expressed his opinions, with the same freedom with which he had spoken.
During the acts of May 2, Feijóo put the government of Isabel DÃaz Ayuso, and in general the regional governments with PP presidents, as an example of what a government should be, and not those of Sánchez. “I am proud of what the Government of the Community of Madrid is doing”, which he believes is “an example of good practice”. Among these good practices, he cited that the tax burden on Madrid residents has been lowered, at a time when families are having a hard time, and not like the central government, which has made 42 tax increases.
Feijóo highlights, above all, that despite this tax cut, there has been a collection record, and that public services have not been affected, as he assures that international organizations accredit, because Madrid “spends on services and not on spending bureaucratic”.
For this reason, he hopes that after the elections on May 28, the majority of the autonomous communities “rethink about the people” and think again “in management, management, management, management and not in spending, spending and spending “.
