The Spanish psychiatrist and writer Marian Rojas Estapé has shared a key to identify if you are a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP). In a recent video, Marian explains that PAS people “have greater sensitivity to interior and exterior stimuli,” such as sounds, textures, smells, and lights.

These people react more intensely to these stimuli, which can include thoughts, memories, emotions and fears. “At that moment an emotion comes over them and they feel a lot,” says Marian, describing the experience of PAS people.

The interviewer asks her if it is possible to have a full life as an HSP, to which Marian responds that these people must be aware of their sensitivity. “They can get excited easily, suffer more than normal and feel different. Sometimes they may feel overwhelmed by too many stimuli and need more affection or isolate themselves so as not to feel so overloaded,” adds the psychiatrist.

Marian highlights the importance of recognizing and accepting this high sensitivity to better manage emotions and stimuli. PAS people can live full lives, as long as they understand and manage their sensitivity appropriately.

This video has generated great interest, helping many people to better understand their own emotions and reactions in a world full of constant stimuli. So, if you identify with some of the reactions to stimuli that the doctor describes, you may be an PAS person.
