Survivientes has been caught in the eye of the storm in recent days after an off-camera incident that occurred between Arantxa del Sol and Ángel Cristo. “What happened on the boat is that I insulted him. I told him the same adjectives that he had used, like ‘crab’, ‘parasite’, and I said strong things to him, really, after receiving all the information. And, at one point, I slapped him in the face and told him: ‘That’s enough for you!’” expressed the contestant.
However, the situation would have been much more serious than initially thought. Kiko Matamoros, through a segment on the program Ni que fuerámos Shhh on Canal Quickie, has harshly attacked the Telecinco reality show and has accused them of whitewashing, ensuring that the reality of the incident was different. In her own words, the program’s management chose to hide the true nature of the attack, both from the contestants and the rest of the world.
“Arantxa hits him three sovereign punches,” Matamoros said. When Ángel Cristo wanted to make known what happened, the organization “panicked,” according to the collaborator. “Ángel Cristo is evacuated in a contest boat, he gets lost for three hours and is invited to forget what happened, not to mention it and to act that way. He is forced to silence him, to remain silent under threats,” he claimed.
“Once he is returned to the island with his companions, Kiko Jiménez is removed from the beach and taken to a point where he is met with the director of the program, who gives him the instructions to help him transmit the guidelines and prevent this from becoming public,” he added. The reason for this attack, according to the collaborator, was an insinuation that Arantxa’s husband, the bullfighter Finito de Córdoba, had had an approach with Ángel’s partner, Ana Herminia.
Coinciding with Matamoros’ statements, del Sol has shared a reaction to his dismissal through Instagram: “Dear friends and followers, I want to express my most sincere gratitude for all the support and affection that I have received during my participation in the Supervivientes program. Your words of support have been, and continue to be, a balm for the soul at this time, especially after this last week that has been turbulent for me and those around me.”
“After reflecting deeply, being able to rest and be with my family again, I recognize and regret my actions, and although they responded to the pressure, coercion and nerves experienced at a very specific moment in the program, it does not justify my actions, never. I feel deeply regretful. I am grateful because the experience on the island has been enriching and full of learning, and that is what I want to stay with: With those good memories that I have lived, “she added.
