The latest rains and the closure of the irrigation channels of Urgell and Segarra-Garrigues have contributed to the growth of the water reserves in the Oliana (Alt Urgell) and Rialb (Noguera) reservoirs by up to 25%, both have gone from 80 cubic hectometres in March to 101 this June.

Despite the growth, the Ebre Hydrographic Confederation (CHE) have indicated that, in all probability, the Segre river basin will continue to be in an emergency situation at the end of June. From the agency they have stated that despite the fact that the rainfall has slowed down the advance of the drought, they still have to adopt containment measures. This has been the conclusion reached in the second meeting of the Sequera Permanent Commission.
