The Civil Guard rescued a deceased mountaineer yesterday Tuesday after suffering an accident in the Torre Santa area, located in the municipality of Posada de Valdeó, in the Picos de Europa of Leon.
As reported by the armed institute this Wednesday, at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, notice was given through Sacyl Health Emergencies that a member of a group of four mountaineers had suffered an accident while carrying out a mountain activity.
The notice activated the Civil Guard (GREIM) rescue team, which, assisted by the helicopter from the León area unit, mobilized to rescue the victim.
The group of mountaineers was located at 10 am and the victim was evacuated by helicopter to the Riaño health center, where medical personnel certified his death.
The body was transferred to the León Forensic Anatomical Institute for the corresponding autopsy.
