The case of Daniel Sancho continues to be one of the most controversial issues today. The 29-year-old chef confessed last Saturday to being guilty of the murder and dismemberment of the body of the prestigious Colombian surgeon Edwin Arrieta on the Thai island of Koh Phangan.

Since the news came to light, numerous information and speculations have begun to flood social networks and the different media, both national and international, which have echoed the matter. At the moment, the alleged murderer is in provisional detention in the Koh Samui prison, where he will have to remain in isolation for ten days to comply with the anti-covid protocol in force.

Rodolfo Sancho’s son assured that the surgeon’s death was an involuntary homicide and that the surgeon had also threatened to leak intimate graphic material to destroy his family’s reputation. But this same Wednesday, the Thai police have confirmed that they had sufficient evidence to accuse the Spanish chef of premeditated murder. “We have enough evidence and now it is up to the court to start the trial,” the head of the police investigation, Somsak Nurod, told AFP.

And it is that the statements of the alleged murderer would not fit with the images that the video surveillance cameras captured, in which Sancho appeared buying a saw, some knives and other utensils to dismember a corpse.

This case has left the Spanish and Colombian population very shocked, so the first reactions from the environment on both sides have not been long in coming. The family of the deceased surgeon is broken in pain, just as we have been able to see Arrieta’s sister in her last interventions, where she assured that she wanted justice for her brother.

Now, thanks to the Telecinco program Así es la vida, we have been able to see first-hand the first words of the surgeon’s father, Leobaldo Arrieta. José Domingo Bueno, the correspondent for the Mediaset space in Colombia, was able to speak briefly with the victim’s father, who was in pain.

”I am badly bad, they have taken my life. He was the one who supported me. ‘My son was very noble, everyone loved him’ ‘, he confessed. One of the things they ask is to be able to bury him. ”Let them bring him here to me, even if he is a little piece of my son,” he affirmed. Leobaldo Arrieta explained that they began to suspect that something was wrong when his daughter did not answer his messages. ”Let justice be done, I only believe in God. God is going to accompany me ”, he concluded.
