A man in Southwest Miami-Dade, Pedro Nunez, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder for shooting his ex-wife multiple times in her home. The incident took place on the 6200 block of SW 109th Avenue around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday. The victim was found in critical condition with gunshot wounds to her torso, extremities, and buttocks.
According to the police report, a witness discovered blood on the floor of the victim’s home around 3:35 a.m. and immediately contacted the authorities. The victim, who was drifting in and out of consciousness, was able to identify Nunez as the shooter. She was rushed to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital where she underwent emergency surgery. Currently, she is in critical but stable condition.
Nunez surrendered to the Hialeah Police and was then transferred to Miami-Dade investigators along with the firearm used in the crime. Police stated that Nunez confessed to the shooting, admitting that it occurred after a heated argument. He has been charged with attempted felony murder and is currently in custody.
