Finnish studio Remedy Entertainment stunned viewers at Gamescom 2023 Opening Night Live last night with a terrifying new trailer for Alan Wake 2. The video served to close out the inaugural event at the Cologne trade fair, hosted by Geoff Keighley, and showed new images of the experience that will arrive at the end of October.
Alan Wake 2 promises to be much more terrifying than the first part. As can be seen in this new trailer, the game will mix real-image videos with actors and cinematics made with the game’s graphics engine. This fits well with the duality posed by the title and with the various doubts regarding the protagonist and his dreams. To what extent is what is seen real?
On the other hand, with this new trailer, Remedy Entertainment confirms the game’s new release date: October 27. Originally, Alan Wake 2 was supposed to arrive on October 17, but the studio pushed it back 10 days to avoid it coinciding with other titles and thus give a bit of margin.
The last time the Finnish studio showed the game was at another Geoff Keighley event, the Summer Game Fest, in which Alan Wake 2 gameplay was seen. Now all that remains is to wait until the end of October to embody Agent Anderson again on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
