The match called for this afternoon at the Escribano Castilla municipal stadium in Motril (Granada), in which the president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Luis Rubiales, was going to play, has been canceled due to the risk of acts that imply an alteration of public order, since at the time of its celebration a feminist protest concentration was scheduled.

In a statement, the Motril City Council has stated that “given the possibility of acts taking place that could imply a possible crime of disturbance of public order and within municipal powers, the football match organized by C. F. Motril that was going to be held this afternoon at the Escribano Castilla Municipal Stadium”.

The match was scheduled in said stadium at 8:30 p.m., and at that same time, at the gates of the venue, a concentration of feminist organizations had been called to take a whistle and show their rejection of the kiss on the mouth that Rubiales gave him. he gave to the Spanish team player Jenni Hermoso in the World Cup final.

The meeting had the support of the clubs Motril CF, CD Costa Tropical and Puerto de Motril, who had confirmed their attendance at the ‘Amigos de Luis Rubiales’ match, which was scheduled to take place this afternoon at the municipal stadium behind closed doors to avoid possible altercations

Rubiales himself, in his speech at the Extraordinary General Assembly held this Friday, confirmed that he would be present at the match. “I will put on the Motril CF shirt again in the sports center to play again with the teammates I started with almost 40 years ago, when I was a kid of four or five: with all of them.”

For its part, from Motril Feminista, made up of a large number of associations and social agents from the coastal city -among them IU-Verdes Equo, Podemos and PSOE-, has made public its “rejection” and has been opposed to the acts , statements and attitudes of the president of the RFEF.

The Motril Feminista call has been joined by the March 8/November 25 Platform against gender violence, which has highlighted its support for Hermoso and has underlined its rejection of Rubiales’ statements.

This platform has demanded that the Comprehensive Law against Gender Violence, known as Only Yes is Yes, and the action protocol against sexual violence provided for in the Sports Law, be applied.

They have also demanded that the necessary resources be activated to guarantee the rights of players in the different sports categories and that the Higher Sports Council (CSD) disseminate and promote preventive actions against sexual harassment or abuse, machismo and sexism. .
