Granollers and Zeballos, to the doubles final

The Spaniard Marcel Granollers and the Argentine Horacio Zeballos defeated the pair formed by the Indian Rohan Boppana and the Australian Matthew Ebden in the semi-finals of the ATP Finals in two sets, 7-5 and 6-4, and achieved passage to the Masters Cup final.

After two consecutive semifinals, those of 2020 and 2021, the setback came in the last edition of the Spanish-Argentine couple, who far from stagnating have raised the level to reach their first final in the prestigious tournament held in Turin (Italy ).

They will arrive at the big event undefeated, having only given up a set in the first duel and with the possibility of opting not only for the large financial pot distributed by the ATP, but also for number one as a couple. A challenge worthy of a duo that is playing the best tennis on the circuit.

Against Boppana and Ebden, a break at 5-5 in the first set and another with a 1-1 draw in the second set led to a deserved victory, the fourth of the year against the Indian and the Australian.

In the final, Granollers, who already won this tournament in 2012 together with the Spanish Marc López, and Zeballos await a rival, who will emerge from this afternoon’s duel between the Mexican Santiago González and the Frenchman Edouard Roger-Vasselin against the American Rajeev Ram and the English Joe Salisbury.
