only three months ago, the waves went high after a halvsløj the start of the season. Brentford looked like again the soft mellemvare. It suggested a new low back in October for Thomas Frank, as Millwall led 2-0 in the showdown at Griffin Park.

But Brentford turned miraculously draw in the dying minutes and won 3-2. But despite the victory was Brentford left at number 13 with just 15 points after the first few months of the season.

Ten new players were brought to the club last summer and the adaptation of them took his time.

the Owner Matthew benham on shook not at hand. Confidence in Thomas Frank and the project was intact. It was because the game on the field was fine, although the results did not materialize in the beginning of the season. In sæsonpremieren against Birmingham was called the shots statistics 15-1, but it ended with a 0-1 defeat.

But the victory over Millwall in October was in many ways a turning point for Brentford, who has since downloaded ten victories in the 15 last matches, which has brought them up to third place in the table.

– It is naturstridigt, to a club like Brentford is how we do. Our budget is in the bottom half of the Championship. Therefore, we welcome the right now of where we are, says Thomas Frank, who is pleased that the helm is not shook the hand, because the results did not materialize in the beginning of the season.

– If you as the coach follows the club’s strategic plans, working hard on the training field with the style of play, the club has chosen, and at the same time has a good relationship with your staff and the players, so you will over time get results on the pitch, says Thomas Frank.

Think of the team before yourself
– Brentford is a club with many good people. I like the mindset we have, where players must think of the team and the whole before they think of themselves. You may be ever so skillful footballer, if you don’t have the right human qualities, you just not to play in Brentford, explains Thomas Frank.

– Brentford is not a club where the management is shaking in your hand. The management is always very clear in what it is doing. I like the fact that everything that is being decided, is very judicious, he elaborates.

The current success on the field was during the week, rewarded with an extension of the contract from 2021 to 2023. Thomas Frank is reaping right now great success and recognition for the work he supplies in Brentford.

– I thrive in Brentford, and my family has fallen really well in London. Therefore, it was not a difficult decision to renew the agreement, says Thomas Frank.

Dreaming of the Premier League
With a current fourth place is for Brentford to play the play-off for the Premier League, but with 18 matches left of the season nothing has been decided.

– the Championship is a totally insane number. The difference between the teams is very small. It is often in every match, very small margins, which is crucial

– It is said that it is the toughest and most demanding league in the world, because we play 46 matches without a winter break, says Thomas Frank, with the current success of dream a little large.

– However, it is clear that when I’m over here that it will be a dream come true to be manager in the Premier League. And the hope is that it can be done with Brentford, although it will be absolutely amazing, if a club of our size to move up, he points out.

the 46-year-old Thomas Frank feels he has been markedly better in recent years, where he also has scored more trænererfaring at a higher level. But it is not only succesoplevelserne, that makes a trainer stronger.

He started by losing eight of the first ten matches, when he in October 2018 joined in the job.

– in recent years I have become stronger tactically, on the training field and as a leader. But I have always been open to learning new things every day. No matter who I’m with. You will not learn and develop yourself, you are surely fired, says he.

They put Brentford to the top:

among all

Ollie Watkins was picked up in the summer of 2017 in Exeter and was last summer retrained from 10 to spidsangriber. And it has been with great success. He is not just Brentford’s top scorer with 18 hits in the season. He is the league’s most scoring player. An attacker, there can be many things. He runs deep, is strong in presspillet and so is he cut-throat on the surface of the post in the field.

the Captain

Pontus Jansson was before the season picked up in Leeds for 50 million. kr. A large amount of money for a club of Brentfords size. The swede, who is the team’s captain, hold on bagkæden. The 190 cm tall stops are physically strong and a real leader, who has big share in that Brentford have the league’s best defense.

Midtbanekrigeren

Christian Nørgaard was downloaded in Fiorentina, and has delivered heavily on the central midfield after a familiarization period. Recently, he was the match player, as Queens Park Rangers were defeated. He has grown into a leading, central role on the crew, where he occasionally also gets a break, because the matches come so quickly after each other in the Championship.

the Slider

the 30-year-old Henrik Dalsgaard is in his third season at the club. He has grown in strength of character and is today one of the lederskikkelserne on the crew. At the same time, he has developed himself, so bundniveauet is very high. There are few fluctuations at the solid back.

the Rocket

Bryan Mbeumo, the 20-year-old frenchman, is rapid and very direct in his style of play. He is venstrebenet, but appears to the right of the tremandsangrebet. It provides the clear advantage, he can pull into the track, when he must finish. So far it triggered 11 sæsontræffere, making him the second most scoring for Brentford in the season.

the Wall

David Raya, 24-year-old Spanish keeper, was picked up for 22 million. kr. in Blackburn before the season. This he did after two fine seasons with the former Premier League winner. Since then, he has evolved to be the league’s best keeper, according to Thomas Frank. He is also the goalkeeper, who has closed the fewest goals in the Championship.

the Assistant

He was an assistant for Stale Solbakken in the FCK. He chose ago to become the U19 coach in FCK, but when Thomas Frank was appointed to the head coach, entered Brian Riemer, and was assistant in Brentford. He is faced with the daily responsibility for the defensive organisation of the Championship crew. And it has been a very big success. Currently Brentford crew the best defensive in the Championship.

Got big praises from the legend

Thomas Frank has been very inspired by Pep Guardiola and Jürgen Klopp, but he has since 2007 been very inspired by the argentine trænerlegende Marcelo Bielsa.

– Bielsa is one of the great personalities in the world of football. When Bielsa was the national coach of Chile, I was very inspired by the way he played. Especially the kind of presfodbold, he practices, explains Thomas Frank, who in the Championship has had the opportunity to speak directly with trænerlegenden.

Bielsa is a coach in Leeds, and last spring, when they met at Griffin Park, Brentfords home, they got themselves a talk in spillertunnelen before the fight. It is, perhaps, so much said. Bielsa said himself, as he does in England, through his interpreter.

– Bielsa praised the us to play nice football and be very clear in the way we do things. And he added, he did not do it out of courtesy, but because he meant it.

– It was a fantastic recognition to get the from a trainer with legend status, explains Thomas Frank.

Brentford won the match 2-0 over Leeds, who currently is number two in the Championship, while Brentford are in third place.

Bielsas teams tend to fall together towards the end of the season. It happened last season and can easily happen again.

– Bielsa is known to push his players to the utmost. They train very hard and very long, every time they are on the training field, points out Thomas Frank.

The 64-year-old argentinian has been a trainer in Leeds ago 2018.
