The court of section 21 of the Court of Barcelona has summoned for Thursday all the parties in the proceedings against Dani Alves, tried for sexual assault with penetration. Also mentioned is the player, who will leave the prison of Brians 2.
The prosecutor, Elisabet Jiménez, the prosecution and lawyer of the complainant, Ester García, and the defense and lawyer of the accused, Inés Guardiola, as well as Alves, have been called to the meeting, as confirmed by La Vanguardia from various sources.
The trial against the footballer was scheduled for sentencing on the 7th. At that moment the Brazilian’s defense requested the defendant’s release, a request that two weeks later the three members of the court have not resolved, despite that they undertook to do so and to communicate the decision before issuing the sentence.
That is why Thursday’s meeting could be related to this resolution on the procedural status of the accused. Although everything makes us suspect that the court will keep Dani Alves in prison, the fact that the three magistrates needed two weeks suggests that there was a debate between the members until they reached a unanimous decision, which can be appealed .
Another option is that the court, presided over by Magistrate Isabel Delgado, has already drafted the sentence during these two weeks and one day that they have had since the three sessions that lasted the hearing were held.
