I’m surprised that the article about telephones did not mention how vastly superior the sound quality is on a land line. The receiver is better designed for speaking and hearing, and there are seldom, if ever, any reception problems.
Your readers might want to try an experiment. Sit next to a land line, but use your cell phone to telephone someone else who is on a cell phone but right next to a land line. Talk for a few moments. Then use your landlines to speak. The immediate contrast will reveal the pure joy of landlines.
See if you don’t immediately say, “ahhh.” See if your entire body doesn’t relax because it is so much easier to converse. You can speak at the same time. Or even sing together in harmony.
