Sanitary workers from Samur-Civil Protection have reversed the cardiorespiratory arrest suffered by an 82-year-old man after choking while eating in a restaurant on Calle del Arenal, in the Centro district.
As reported by Madrid Emergencies, his companion has received instructions by phone to perform the Heimlich maneuver, but it has not worked.
When the Samur-Civil Protection troops arrived at the scene, the man was already in cardiorespiratory arrest, so they began cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers.
In a few minutes they have managed to reverse the stop and, subsequently, they have transferred the man with a moderate prognosis to the Fundación Jiménez DÃaz hospital.
