The man who remained barricaded in a room in his home in Alaquàs (Valencia) has been found dead “with a shot to the chest” by members of the Special Operations Group who have entered the home, according to municipal sources.
The man, who has started the entrenchment as a result of a family argument, has locked himself in with two short weapons in one of the rooms of the house, located on Federico García Lorca street.
The mayor of the municipality, Toni Saura, has explained to the journalists that they received the notice around 1:00 p.m. that the man had barricaded himself in one of the rooms after an argument and that an explosion had been heard.
The Local Police has moved to the home, which has gone up to the home and has been able to evict the woman and the two minor children “without any kind of danger” and, from there, they have contacted the National Police. The mayor has confirmed that they are “fine”.
When the Special Operations Group has been able to enter the house, it has verified that the person “had shot himself in the chest and had died instantly.”
The woman and children are being cared for by the SAMU, according to the mayor, who has indicated that it is “an isolated incident because the person who was found dead did not have any type of police record and there was no part of the intervention with him. At this time, many people after the pandemic are not doing well on a mental level and it has been a one-off thing.”
