The Brazilian Paulo Peregrino was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2018 and has managed to completely cure his disease after undergoing a cell therapy called CAR-T. In an interview offered to CNN, the patient described as a “miracle” what science has managed to do.

It is not the first case, but the published images of two CT scans, before and after treatment, are encouraging. In the first, the extension of tumors throughout the body is clearly observed; in the second, it is seen how the cancer has completely remitted.

The 61-year-old patient had undergone 45 chemotherapy sessions in addition to a bone marrow transplant. The results were not as expected and Paulo was close to being transferred to a palliative care unit.

At that time, the patient explains, his family searched and discovered Dr. Vanderson Rocha and his studies with CAR-T cells on the internet. On March 23, the process began with these modified cells and in just 30 days they managed to leave no trace of the metastatic cancer that he suffered from.

CAR-T therapy is causing a real revolution in the fight against cancer. This treatment consists of the genetic modification of the patient’s own cells through the detection of cancer cells.

The case of Paulo Peregrino has undoubtedly been an absolute success. What chemotherapy could not achieve in 5 years of fighting cancer, this treatment has achieved in just one month. Roncha showed her happiness for Paulo’s healing thanks to CAR-T therapy through her social networks.
