The National Police have simultaneously dismantled nine illegal brothel houses in Sabadell, Premià de Mar, Palamós, Alicante and Inca (Mallorca). The agents have arrested seven people of Chinese nationality related to this activity under charges of belonging to a criminal organization, coercive prostitution and crime against the rights of foreign citizens.

During the operation, the security forces released 16 women, also of Chinese nationality, who were forced into prostitution. Those arrested forced them to carry out this activity through abuse of superiority and taking advantage of the situation of vulnerability and need of the women.

The investigation into this case began in January 2022, when the existence of the premises in Sabadell was discovered. Then, the Local Brigade of the National Police of this city, which took charge of the coordinated investigation with other Immigration Police Units, discovered the existence of other similar brothel houses in other parts of the country, announced on a web page of a sexual nature. . From then on, the joint and simultaneous device began at different points.

The victims practiced prostitution in deplorable conditions. They did it in rooms with lack of ventilation and unsanitary conditions, where they also lived and slept. In addition, nine of the released women resided in Spain irregularly. After the operation, the Police have offered these women assistance and help from the Social Services of the different autonomous communities.
