At least 12 people have been arrested this Tuesday in Lleida in an operation against irregular immigration initiated by the Lleida Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.
After nine in the morning, Civil Guard agents have cordoned off Del Nord and Ramon Llull streets, where the first arrests and house searches have taken place, and then they have moved to Alfred Perenya street to continue with more searches.
The operation has been ordered by the Court of First Instance and Instruction number 1 of Vielha e Mijaran, which has been investigating the case for some time.
Some of the detainees are being investigated for allegedly transferring the victims from one place to another in vans.
The operation, which is still open and in which some agents of the Civil Guard displaced from Madrid have intervened, is under summary secrecy.
In Calle del Nord, the searches and arrests have occurred in houses at numbers 18 and 27.
