David Beckham has made clear his great love for dogs. The current owner of Inter Miami has published a tender moment on Instagram stories with Simba, the family cockapoo – he is a mix of cocker spaniel and poodle -.

The videos show Beckham lying on the ground affectionately interacting with Simba. He whistles at him to get his attention and receives hugs and cuddles from the dog. “Simba? What’s wrong?” he asks him. They even go so far as to rest their heads, an approach to which Simba responds by standing on his belly, which is a gesture that dogs make to express that they are comfortable.

The former soccer player has accompanied one of the videos with a message that says Simba followed by three orange hearts and an emoji of a laughing face, highlighting the happiness that his four-legged companion brings him.

Simba’s arrival to the Beckham family in June 2022 marked a new chapter for the household, adding to the already varied list of pets that includes Fig, Sage, Olive and Logan. Victoria Beckham celebrated the event on Instagram during National Dog Day, where she shared a photo that captured the joy of her husband and her children, Harper, 12, and Romeo, 21, along with newcomer Simba.

Beyond his businesses, Beckham has found in the company of his dogs a refuge full of love and teachings. Not long ago, during the 2021 quarantine, he shared with his followers how he taught Fig, his English cocker spaniel, the command to give paw.

It didn’t take Beckham too long for the little dog to understand what they were asking of him and he won an appetizing prize. “All we do in confinement is high five and eat,” posted the former player, who whenever he can reflects the patience, dedication and love that the former soccer player feels for his four-legged companions.
