An Aurora man is accused of trying to arrange sex with a minor and possession of child pornography following an undercover operation by Will County sheriff’s investigators.

Andrew D. Stewart, 29, of the 500 block of Plum Street, was being held Tuesday without bond on two felony charges of possession of child pornography and two of traveling to meet a minor, according to Will County Circuit Court records.

Stewart was arrested Monday following a monthlong investigation, Sheriff Mike Kelley said in a release. Detectives during that time posed as two, 13-year-old boys, and ultimately arranged to meet with Stewart for a sexual encounter, according to the release.

Kelley said Stewart, at the time of his arrest, had two condoms in his pockets, along with "cell phones that contained videos of pornographic images of children."

Stewart, under questioning, "made statements of his continued intentions of having sex with children," according to the release.

A spokeswoman for Kelley declined to say where Stewart was arrested, or to provide further details about the case.

An examination of online court documents indicated Stewart has no criminal record in Will, Kane and DuPage counties.
