Eva, a 49-year-old resident of Malaga, has been living poorly for two months in a tent in a park in the Santa Inés neighborhood. She was evicted and has no roof or job, so this is the only way out that she has found to be able to continue living with her two dogs and be close to her 13-year-old son, who lives a few meters away. with her ex-husband.

Eva has little more than some clothes and some blankets, but she receives daily help from many neighbors, who provide her with water, food and belongings such as the tent itself that provides shelter or a small mattress on which she sleeps next to her. to your pets.

“Thanks to them I survive well and I can see my son every day because I am right here,” the woman, who often receives visits from her teenage child, explains to EFE.

“He is a very good child, very studious, he makes me strong, but it is hard to know that his mother is in the condition she is in,” confesses Eva, who spends her days in a “very painful, sad and very lonely way.” “.

As Canal Málaga has reported, she was evicted from her home a few months ago and found herself homeless as she did not have any support from her family or the administrations. She assures that for more than five years she has been asking the City Council for a protection apartment in which she can live with her family.

“The only solution they give me is a shelter and I refuse to go there,” says the woman, who does not want to leave behind those who are giving her the most company at the moment, her dogs.

He claims to have to survive with “zero cents”, since since he does not have housing or a registry, he does not have the right to any kind of financial benefit.

“I’m not going to give up, I plan to go to the door of City Hall with the tent and a banner asking for the problem to be solved now,” he declares.

Paqui, a local resident and owner of a bakery, explains to EFE that she helps him whenever she can and considers it “a shame” that she has to live in a tent.

“At least give her a home so she won’t be like this,” says this neighbor, who believes that everyone has the right to decent housing: “The girl is a good person, she behaves well, we neighbors help her as much as we can.” we can, but we cannot offer you a house”.
