“It is a love letter to Barcelona and its streets,” said the organizers during the presentation of the 150 artists and bands, among which are Lana del Rey, SZA, Pulp, VAMPIRE WEEKEND, Mitski, Charli XCX, Justice, PJ Harvey , Deftones or The National.
These and many others are the protagonists of the video along with the city and emblematic places or shops, such as the Sagrada Familia, the Mercat de la Boqueria, the Monumental, the Mapfre Tower, a stop on the L1 metro, the Molino, the Bagdad or El Corte Inglés in Plaza Catalunya. Their names are replaced by those of the groups and artists invited to the festival.
“We return to the essence, to the spirit of that party that Primavera Sound held in 1994 in the KGB room in Barcelona” and which was the prologue of the festival, which was inaugurated as such in 2001 at the Poble Espanyol in Barcelona, ??the organizers have noted. .
The 22nd edition of Primavera Sound Barcelona will be held between May 30 and June 1 at the Parc del Fòrum and will be preceded by a free day on May 29 in which Phoenix will perform.
In this way, the festival recovers its single weekend format in Spain, after last year its attempt to organize two twin events in Barcelona and Madrid for two consecutive weekends failed.
