Sources from the Civil Guard have revealed that they believe that one of the mastiffs that caused Arancha’s death was held with a chain that the animal managed to break. The authorities continue to investigate the precise details of the tragic attack on the young woman, who was buried in Roales de Pan, Zamora, last Wednesday.

In this sense, they have reported that a mastiff was found with a broken chain around its neck, according to investigation sources cited by the newspaper La Opinión.

The investigations show that the animal was tied and managed to break the chain, since another fragment of it was found in the area of ??the incident.

Authorities have notified Ricardo Casas, mayor of La Hiniesta, where the farm that houses the shepherd dogs is located, about the situation. The dogs must be quarantined for 14 days, and their custody will continue as long as necessary until a court makes a decision on whether they should be euthanized.

Last Wednesday, the funeral of Arancha Corcero, the deceased 27-year-old girl, took place. Family, friends and neighbors gathered to say goodbye to her in her hometown, Roales del Pan.

The funeral ceremony was held at the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption. The loved ones of the deceased received the support of hundreds of people, who kept a deep silence as a sign of mourning.
