It has been almost twenty years since the last episode of the Charmed series, but its protagonists are still on the warpath due to the controversial departure of one of the actresses, Shannen Doherty. The fiction hit the screens in 1998 and due to the excessive success it achieved not only in the United States, but worldwide, the series managed to be on the air for eight seasons.
But although the story of the Halliwell sisters conquered millions of viewers around the world, the bad relationship between the leading actresses managed to capture all the public’s attention. And it is no secret that Alyssa Milano and Shannen Doherty were great enemies during the recording of the series. A situation that led to Doherty’s unexpected departure and the addition of a fourth sister to the equation, played by Rose McGowan.
But when we all thought that the quarrels between the actresses were part of the past, some of the protagonists of the series have wanted to talk openly about the subject in recent interviews. Holly Marie Combs appeared with Doherty on the Let’s Be Clear podcast. There, the actress revealed that a producer had told her that Alyssa Milano had threatened to sue the series’ team “for a hostile work environment” if they did not fire the actress who played the eldest Halliwell.
After these harsh statements, Alyssa Milano wanted to counterattack through her social networks with a strong statement. ”I don’t know of another program that has had the success that Charmed had where the cast continues to speak badly about the experience a quarter of a century later. This was 15 movies and 13 TV shows ago for me. This was 11 years before my marriage of 15 years and 13 years before I had my first child. This was so long ago that any telling of these stories by anyone is simply a historical review,’ she began by saying.
”I have worked very hard in these last 25 years to heal all my traumas, and it is not only all the trauma that I experienced while recording, but all my traumas,” he assured. However, the media battle intensified again days later with the response of other fictional actresses. ”We simply tell the truth because the truth matters (…) I remember the events as if I were still living them. What I will say is that what someone might call drama is a real trauma for me that I have lived with for a very long time,” Doherty declared at the MegaCon event in Orlando.
