It may be one of the most contagious laughs on television, but the truth is that Loreto Valverde was much more than that. And it is that this well-known actress demonstrated from the beginning of her the versatility that characterized her and that led her to become one of the most famous faces of the 90s. But what has become of her?
The truth is that to return to the beginnings of Loreto Valverde on the small screen, you have to go back to 1989, when she briefly participated as a stewardess in the Estudio Estadio format of TVE. However, if she will be remembered for anything, it was for her participation in VIP Noche, the famous format presented by Emilio Aragón and Belén Rueda.
From there, Telecinco did not take long to sign her as a presenter and an example of this would be her participation in formats such as What a fun people, Goals are loves or Beauties in the water. A series of formats that would be questionable today but that at that time were synonymous with success.
After these came her participation in La Revista, a TVE series that made her one of the main faces of the chain. And after that, her adherence to the programs of José Luis Moreno. So much so that she was linked to the businessman for six years and to the formats that he carried out on the public channel in his golden age.
However, as has happened with other faces of the time, staying in the main positions over time is not always so easy and that is why after his fleeting disappearance from television at the beginning of the year 2000 his return was more linked to appearances. more punctual.
Not only that. She also tried her luck as a participant in the Antena 3 reality show La Granja – the old version of Pesadlila on El Paraíso that is now broadcast by Telecinco – at the same time that she turned more and more to FORTA regional channels.
The curious thing about Valverde is that beyond her role more closely linked to the presentation of formats or even to acting, the truth is that her performances as a magazine actress also led her to develop a career more closely linked to music. Proof of this is that she was a finalist at the Benidorm Festival in 1993 together with her sister Marta de ella.
But, returning to the role closest to the small screen, the truth is that Valverde did not return to national general television after his march to the autonomous. Only for participations in formats such as Pasapalabra or Déjate Querer, where he starred in an emotional moment with his sister and his father. The latter, unfortunately passed away in 2021 due to Covid-19.
Valverde’s life has taken an exponential turn over the last two decades, but his many programs, appearances on the small screen and a laugh that will always be one of the most characteristic on television remain in the memory of the Spanish people. And also the theater.
