Masters of Sewing has made its long-awaited return to La 1 after two years off the air. In this edition, the sixth, the cast already known to fans has been maintained with Raquel Sánchez Silva at the helm as presenter and the jury made up of Lorenzo Caprile, María Escoté and Palomo Spain.
In the first test, in which the applicants had to create a garment that they have never been able to wear, the first shortcomings of the new contestants have already been seen. While some have had no problems, some others have made beginner’s mistakes due to nerves.
One of the contestants who made a mistake is Carlota, who had already starred in another moment of the program by calling Lorenzo Caprile a “mummy.” This contestant, who currently lives in London, has chosen the wrong fabric for her creation and has been very late trying to find a solution to fix the mess.
Cristian, another of the contestants, wanted to be interested in how his partner was doing. “Have you embroidered yet? Come on,” urged the applicant from Malaga. However, Carlota has tried to justify why she had not started using any machine: “No, I’m the last one. Because I messed up. It’s okay.”
This answer did not please Cristian at all, who was unable to understand the explanations that Carlota gave him. For this reason, he has given her some Machiavellian advice to try to get her to react and get her act together: “No, not the last one. When you see a gap, get in because you won’t get there. Don’t look out for others, be bad.” Julia, who had heard the conversation, shook her head when she realized the Andalusian’s intentions.
Although Cristian has insisted that Carlota not take the rest of her classmates into account, she has insisted that it was better to respect the turns: “Yes, but no…”. Erik, another of the contestants, agreed with the attitude of the British Museum’s exhibition coordinator: “It wouldn’t work for me either.”
