La que se avecina has become one of the longest running series in the history of television in Spain. After the end of Aquí no hay quien viva, a new community of neighbors reached thousands of homes in our country to make millions of viewers laugh and entertain.
The series premiered in 2007, 16 years ago, so a whole generation of children has grown up among the jokes of Antonio Recio (Jordi Sánchez), the phrases of Amador Rivas (Pablo Chiapella) and the fights of Enrique Pastor (José Luis Gil).
But not only millions of children and adolescents have grown up with the series, but some of its actors entered fiction as babies and today they are over the age of majority. That is the case of Carlota Boza, who plays the daughter of the ‘cuquis’, Carlota, in the Telecinco series. The girl started in the series when she was only 6 years old and now she is a 21-year-old woman.
During one of her last public appearances, the actress answered a reporter’s question who wanted to know how actor José Luis Gil was doing and if he would return to work on the series in the near future.
The artist, very moved to remember the actor with whom she has shared a project for so many years and who had to retire due to a stroke, has stated that she is better, but that she is not ready to return.
”I don’t have much information, but I know that he is not yet ready to return to a project of such magnitude. It is a lot of effort, a lot of work and time. He needs to rest ”, the young woman said while she assured that they missed him and that when he was ready they would wait for him on set.
On November 4, 2021, the actor José Luis Gil suffered a stroke that caused him to spend more than a month under surveillance in the hospital. Thanks to the speed with which the doctors acted, the artist managed to get ahead and is recovering in his house, surrounded by his loved ones.
Thousands of fans reacted to the news with great sorrow that an essential character from La que se avecina had to leave the project due to a health problem, but since the date of the event the actor has not stopped receiving messages of support and encouragement from part of his large entourage of followers.
