State police reported that Mary Mara, an actress, drowned in an Upstate New York River.
According to a New York State Police statement, officers responding to a drowning report found the body of the 61 year-old victim in the St. Lawrence River shortly after 10 a.m. on Sunday.
According to the statement, Troopers arrived at the scene with Cape Vincent Fire and Ambulance. They found a woman dead in the St. Lawrence River.
“The victim has been identified to be Mary T. Mara, 61, from Cape Vincent (NY). The release stated.
State police stated that preliminary investigations indicated that Mara drowned while swimming.
Mara’s body was not suspicious and she was taken to Jefferson County Medical Examiner’s Office. The autopsy was completed by state police.
Craig Dorfman, Mara’s manager confirmed her death in a statement to CBS News.
Mary was one of my favorite actresses. I can still recall seeing her perform on Broadway in 1992’s “Mad Forest”. She was funny, electric and an individual. She was loved by everyone. She will be missed.” Dorfman wrote.
