Rosa, 81, and Evaristo, 90, starred in an emotional date on the program ‘First Dates’. Both, widowers and residents of Madrid, were excited by the opportunity to meet someone new and share their time with a compatible partner.
Rosa, a retired kitchen assistant, has been widowed for 14 years and has found in independence and an active life a way to keep her spirit young. “I’m a simple woman. I like everything: dancing, cinema, theater, sports,” Rosa explained. With three adult children, she is looking for a sincere, noble and friendly partner who makes her laugh and enjoys her life as much as she does.
For his part, Evaristo, a retired installer, also a widower, commented that he likes to be well dressed, including a hat. Passionate about travel and excursions, Evaristo is looking for a person to accompany him on his adventures so he doesn’t have to go alone. With four children, Evaristo is eager to find a companion who shares his enthusiasm for life.
From the first moment, Rosa was attracted to Evaristo: “Very well dressed and without a tie,” the single woman considered. Evaristo, charmed by Rosa’s elegance and friendliness, also showed interest from the beginning. After an initial toast, the two headed to dinner to get to know each other better.
During dinner, Rosa and Evaristo shared details of their lives. Both confessed themselves widowed and in good health. Rosa mentioned that Evaristo reminded her of her brother, which added a personal note to the conversation. While Evaristo enjoys walks around the neighborhood and watching television, Rosa prefers to stay active by going to the gym and participating in activities outside the home.
Evaristo, willing to adapt, clarified that he would be happy to accompany Rosa in her activities. However, Rosa observed that, although Evaristo seemed to have been active in the past, he now seemed a little discouraged. “I would like him to regain his enthusiasm for life,” she commented before inviting him to dance ‘Bésame mucho’.
At the end of dinner, it was time for the final decision. Evaristo, clear in his feelings, expressed his desire to have a second date with Rosa: “I liked you and you are pretty.” Rosa, although a little more hesitant, accepted the proposal, highlighting that she would have to encourage Evaristo a little to regain her enthusiasm.
