Jared James Nichols, blues-rock guitarist, performed at the Apollo in Belvidere on May 5. He sang “Shadow Dancer” from his new EP, “Threw Me To the Wolves”, “Skin ‘n bone” and “Bad Roots”.
Live music will be back in 2022 with country, rock and heavy metal artists returning to the stage. Fans couldn’t be happier.

Robert Plant, Led Zeppelin’s singer, and Alison Krauss, a bluegrass star, began working together with their 2007 album “Raising Sand”, which was a Grammy-winner in the album of the year category. They are currently touring in support of their new album, “Raise the Roof.” They perform here at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, Chicago, June 7, 2022.

Plant and Alison Krauss setlist featured songs from their new album, including “Rich Woman,” and “Please Read the Letter.” Everly Brothers covers (“Gone Gone Gone,” and “Stick With Me Baby”), as well as some Zeppelin songs (“The Battle of Evermore”)
Some bands have been placed on hold while members of other bands perform solo shows. John 5, the guitarist who has been performing with Rob Zombie, is currently on tour with John 5 and the Creatures while Zombie makes a movie. John 5 performed at the Apollo Theatre A.C. in Belvidere (Ill.) on May 4.
John 5 is a skilled performer of both country and heavy metal (he was a big fan of “Hee Haw” as a child). John 5 performed “Six Hundred Sixty Six Pickers In Hell, CA,” “Land of Misfit Toys,” and “Season of the Witch.”

Zakk Wylde is Ozzy Osbourne’s long-time lead guitarist and will be performing at the Apollo Theatre A.C. in Belvidere (Ill.) May 5, 2022.
Nita Strauss, solo guitarist, opened for Wylde in May and Black Label Society. She is a descendant of Johann Strauss, the classical composer. She has performed at wrestling matches and toured with Alice Cooper.
Her setlist included “Mariana Trench,” The Quest,” “Our Most Desperate Time,” and “Dead Inside,” her number one hit in 2021.
The Brian Jonestown Massacre are currently on their first national tour since 2018. Their latest music was released in March. They perform at Chicago’s Vic Theatre on April 8, 2022. Hallberg Dadi Hallbergsson, Hakon Adalsteinsson, Enrique Maymi, and Enrique Maymi are on tour with Anton Newcombe. Uri Rennert plays drums, Joel Gion plays tambourine, Ryan Carlson plays keyboards, and Joel Gion plays bass.
The band’s bus was broken into and their gear stolen in April while they were touring in Portland. Newcombe wrote: “To the mother of *****s who stole my s*** and feed my family: It will be my hand to greet you when you are dead. You will [fire emoticon].
Two weeks later, police rescued most of the equipment and guitars from a homeless camp.
Volbeat, a Danish rock band whose music blends rock, rockabilly, and heavy metal, performed at Chicago’s Allstate Arena on February 8, 2022 as the opening act for Ghost.
Ghost’s setlist included “Square Hammer,”” Rats,” Hunter’s Moon,” Dance Macabre,”and “From the Pinnacle To the Pit.” They also covered Metallica’s “Enter Sandman.”
Tool, a Los Angeles-based rock band, performed at Chicago’s United Center on March 10, 2022. Maynard James Keenan was the vocalist, along with guitarist Adam Jones, drummer Danny Carey, and bassist Justin Chancellor. Barlow noted that they technically strive for perfection and often surpass it.
Tool’s 2019 album, Fear Inoculum, is their first album in thirteen years. They are on tour to support it. “Fear Inoculum”, which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s chart, featured the hits “Invincible”, “Descending,” and “Culling Voices,” all of which were included on the setlist.
