Alexandra Jiménez does not mince words. The actress has visited the set of Martínez y Hermanos, where she has revealed the reality behind the casting of Los Serrano, a series that marked an entire generation.

The Aragonese played África Sanz, the long-suffering companion of Raúl (Alejo Sauras) and friend of Eva (Verónica Sánchez) in the television series. Thanks to her performance, she ended up becoming one of the protagonists of the series, but her beginnings were not easy at all.

The performer went to the Los Serrano casting at the last minute: “When I went there were three girls and it was unfortunate,” Jiménez begins by revealing, who has a somewhat negative memory.

“I couldn’t tell you why, I remember going to my representative’s house crying, crying for a few hours regretting myself,” says the actress, who to her surprise ended up getting the role of Africa.

Despite not remembering many details of the casting, Alexandra claims to have noticed a certain feeling of clumsiness: “You notice that you are not getting it right. Many times I have done castings that have gone very well and I have not been caught, so I distrust when things go wrong. They turn out well,” he says.

Los Serrano is a comedy-drama television series that takes place in the fictional neighborhood of Santa Justa, located on the banks of the Manzanares River, Madrid. It tells the life of the Serrano family, and was one of the most watched programs on Telecinco in 2004.
