Like every December 22, millions of people have woken up with the hope of becoming one of the winners of the extraordinary 2023 Christmas Lottery draw. Every year is special and this one was no different. And this new edition of the draw has left us with the latest jackpot in history.

The first prize was sung at 1:16 p.m. and fell at number 88,008. This peculiar number has left a great flood of millions, spread across more than twenty municipalities in the territory. Madrid, Jaén, Écija, Vilamarxant, Dos Hermanas, Seville, Tortosa, Teruel, Albacete and Ciutadella de Menorca have been some of the lucky cities.

The most curious thing about this special day is that many of the winners do not realize until the last moment that they have the tenth winner. A situation that is repeated year after year and that always generates unique and endearing moments. An example of this was what happened to a neighbor from Seville this Friday. Like every morning she came down from her house so calmly to enjoy a sunny walk. But her day was going to take a 180 degree turn when she met one of the Andalucía Directo reporters who gave her one of the best news of her life: she had an award-winning number.

One of the workers of the Telecinco program Vamos a Ver was experiencing a similar situation this morning. The journalist was working in the editorial office of the Telecinco program when she suddenly realized that she had won the jackpot. After confirming that she had been one of the lucky ones, the journalist sat down next to Joaquín Prat to tell everything she had experienced.

”I’m still in shock. On top of that, you’ve gotten me into trouble because I’ve been here for 34 years and I’ve never been in front of a camera,” he began by saying. ”We are working and we were looking at the winning numbers and I thought we had won third. And then I started receiving WhatsApp from my brothers who told me to look at my mother’s number (…) I looked at it and said “it’s the Gordo” (…) It’s happened to all of us brothers, ” he explained. Carmen said that the tenth had been bought in Madrid and that it was to be distributed among her three brothers and her mother.

Regarding what she was going to do with the money, the worker said that she still did not believe that she had received it. ”I don’t even know how much it’s going to cost me,” she said. ”I’m going to invite my classmates,” she said. ”You get 65,600 per head, after paying the Treasury,” declared the presenter.
