Authorities said that a Border Patrol agent in Tucson and another driver were both killed in a head on collision in southern Arizona on Saturday morning.

According to the U.S. Border Patrol’s Tucson Sector, the crash occurred after midnight on Route 86 near Sells, Arizona.

Soon after the accident, both drivers were declared dead. According to the Border Patrol, the civilian was the only one in the other vehicle.

The identities of the victims and the circumstances leading to the crash were not revealed.

The Tohono O’odham Police Department is investigating the crash, according to FOX 10 in Phoenix.

“The Tohono O’odham Nation is deeply saddened by the tragic incident that claimed two lives,” Ned Norris, Jr., Chairman of Tohono O’odham Nation, stated in a statement. Please keep their loved ones and friends in your prayers and thoughts.
