A country’s infrastructure is not made for a single use. The greatest example of this are roads and highways. Mostly used by cars and more motorized vehicles, they are also designed for aviation.
With the expansion of air traffic, many motorized aircraft constantly fly through the sky. But problems can always arise that cause an emergency situation and there is not always an airport nearby.
This is what has happened in Latvia. A private plane was carrying out return maneuvers when it suffered technical complications. Then he had to make an emergency landing on a fairly busy road to avoid greater harm.
Although fortunately there is no human damage to report, the plane did suffer mishaps on one wing since, as can be seen in a video shared on Instagram by the @sadursme account, the device collided with one of the traffic signs.
The Latvian Civil Aviation Agency reported the event on its Twitter account: “This afternoon, a general aviation aircraft carrying two people made an emergency landing on a highway in Adazi for technical reasons.”
In the comments of the video, many people have applauded the pilot’s work, being able to land without causing any damage. However, others criticize that the traffic signal was in a bad position and that he should not have been there.
