Two people have been arrested and sent to prison in Alicante for stealing 10,000 euros from a Ukrainian refugee, who was waiting for his wife and son to arrive at an establishment’s car when he was asked by a man, whose buddy opened the back door of the vehicle and stole a fanny pack containing a mobile phone and a tablet, in addition to money.

The two detainees, of Algerian nationality, have also been accused of a crime of drug trafficking, when 130 grams of hashish and 110 grams of crystal were seized in the search of the alleged thieves’ home, in which the $6,200 was recovered. and 4,200 euros stolen from this family, according to the newspaper Information and confirmed by Efe with police sources.

Thus, the Alicante Guard Court, which has taken into account the vulnerability of the Ukrainian family, whose documentation was also stolen, has ordered the imprisonment of these two people, who carried out the robbery on the beach of San John of Alicante.

Police sources have indicated that the Ukrainian man was waiting for his wife and son to leave a shopping area when one of the thieves asked him for an address, while the other person opened the rear door of the car and seized a fanny pack in the which contained all the documentation, money and some electronic devices.

The National Police located and arrested the two Algerians on Friday, whom the Ukrainian man recognized, so the agents proceeded to a house search, in which, in addition to the money, hashish and the substance known as crystal were found.
