Civil Guard agents found this Sunday on the shore of the Barranco de Xeta in the municipality of Benicolet (Valencia) the lifeless body of a 57-year-old man who disappeared during the night of this Saturday.
After the disappearance of the man, a resident of Llutxent (Valencia), in Assut de Blai, the search tasks focused on a pond and water pond with barely any current, between two and three meters deep, where a chair and a fishing rod belonging to the missing person.
At around 11:10 p.m., the Special Underwater Activities Group (GEAS) was activated to participate in the search along with several citizen security patrols, as reported by the armed institute in a statement.
Finally, around 9:00 a.m. this Sunday, the man’s lifeless body was located, hidden among some reeds, on the very shore of the Xeta Ravine, about 150 to 200 meters away from the point of disappearance.
The Gandia Judicial Police Team has taken charge of the proceedings and the Judicial Authority has been notified. The evidence indicates that it is an accident, the Civil Guard has indicated.
