The Regional Council is preparing the second day of dynamization to make known the heritage of Pallars Sobirà among its neighbors. The theme chosen for this year has been the traditional industrial heritage and the starting gun has been given at the Salt Museum of Gerri and the salt pans.

Laura Tristan, Councilor for Culture of the Pallars Sobirà Regional Council, has explained that the region is rich in heritage, but it is necessary to make it known. With this objective, it is intended to link the days with the school and the industries of the region. They hope that, in this way, the students will visit and learn about equipment such as Alfolí de Gerri, the Àreu sawmill or the Alins blacksmith shop.

For this second edition, they are preparing a round table with the participation of the director of the Salt Museum, Arao Yagüe, the technical architect specialized in industrial heritage, Josep Coll, the archaeologist and scholar of the iron deposits in the Vall Ferrera, Òscar Augé and the director of the Capdella Hydroelectric Museum, Eva Perisé.

The conference will conclude on Friday, April 14, with visits to industrial heritage facilities such as the Alins blacksmith shop and Xavier Llor’s collection of iron pieces, Casa Sistet de Alins, the Àreu sawmill or a walk through Ainet de Besan where will talk about the conservation of industrial heritage in the Pyrenees.

The first days of these characteristics revealed the Romanesque part of Pallars Sobirà. The objective is to address a different theme each year and, little by little, make the residents of the region aware of the rich heritage that the region treasures, explains Tristan.
