Homicide detectives from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department have successfully identified the victim whose burned body was discovered in the Baden neighborhood over the weekend. The suspect in this heinous crime has fled the area, leaving authorities searching for answers.
The body of the victim, Kiya Holt-Biggs, a 21-year-old woman from Granite City, Illinois, was found in a parking lot on Switzer Avenue on Saturday, October 19. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene by District 6 police officers who responded to the call around 8:30 p.m.
The suspect in this case has been identified as Zaveon Mills, also 21 years old. The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office has since charged Mills with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection to Holt-Biggs’ tragic death.
Authorities believe that Mills has fled both the St. Louis area and possibly the state in an attempt to evade arrest.
