With the Susqueda reservoir at 23% of its capacity, the entire Querós bridge can once again be seen, as can be seen in this series of photographs in La Vanguardia’s Readers’ Photos.

It is once again the bridge over the River Ter, since right now the Susqueda reservoir begins lower down due to the drought that has significantly reduced the level of the reservoir.

This bridge belongs to the municipality of Sant Hilari Sacalm, in the La Selva region. It is supported by three large pillars with four arches.

The pillars of the bridge are made of ashlars and the upper part of the bridge is made of stone work and lime mortar. The holes on both sides of the bridge that allowed scaffolding to be placed are still visible in the pillars. The floor of the bridge is made of pebbles.

It was built between 1532 and 1534, although the central part was rebuilt between 1696 and 1700, when it was damaged by a flood. In 1967 it was covered by the waters of the reservoir, but the persistent drought has caused it to be completely exposed again.
