The National Police has dismantled an illegal drug laboratory located in Gavà and has arrested a couple responsible for creating the treatments and selling them online, the force reported this Monday in a statement. The main product they marketed was dutasteride, which is used to treat the prostate and they sold to prevent hair loss.
The couple is accused of allegedly selling more than 6,600 doses of illegal medications, which they manufactured in a clandestine laboratory. They traded globally and had emerging markets in countries like Mexico, where a shipment of 120 kilos of vials was seized in exchange for $72,000.
The group had three websites and sold many products that were not authorized in Spain and others that can only be supplied under medical prescription. In addition to crepelo, they also supplied fat burners, mesotherapy substances and vitamin supplements, among others.
After carrying out a search in a home that the arrested couple had in Gavà, the artisanal laboratory was detected with everything necessary to manufacture illegal medicines, such as a homemade sterilization chamber. Searches were also carried out in Barcelona, ??located very close to the town of Baix Llobregat.
The operation has resulted in the arrest of the couple accused of crimes against public health. In addition, the blocking of the bank accounts managed by the detainees has been decreed.
