Zeng Yasui and Liu Xuo are great lovers of Spanish architecture and culture. The couple wanted to get married outside of China, in their country of origin, and Barcelona was the city that attracted them the most.

They chose to have their wedding on the panoramic platform of the Tibidabo amusement park, but instead of celebrating the wedding just the two of them, they decided to invite sixty strangers through an application.

“They thought they would like it more if there were a lot of people, as soon as they said ‘We invite all the strangers we can,’” explained Ola Van Dyck, a journalist who attended the event, in an interview on Versió RAC1.

La Ona is a student intern at ACN, originally from Belgium. “I’ve been in Barcelona recently and I downloaded Meetup to meet people,” the journalist commented.

When he downloaded the application, he came across the announcement of the couple’s ceremony, where 220 people had already signed up. “I thought it was very strange and I mentioned it to my boss,” she continued. Thus, they decided to get in touch to do an interview.

About sixty people ended up attending the ceremony. The majority were foreigners “looking for people to meet.” “We had a dress code that was to wear black and white. “Everyone was very well dressed,” Van Dyck explained.

The guests danced with the bride and groom and took photos: “It was like a small party.” After the ceremony, “they gave a small gift” to the attendees: figures of pandas, stickers, some aromatic bags and some yen, “I think it is a traditional thing from their country,” the student concluded.
