The Civil Guard has recovered 22 bicycles and a large quantity of sportswear that had been stolen at the beginning of the month from a store in Cartagena (Murcia) in a mechanical workshop in Coslada and has arrested five people for these events, three of them with criminal records. for other crimes.

As reported by the Armed Institute, the alleged thieves managed to get hold of loot that exceeds 300,000 euros. The detainees used the car of a client who had deposited it in the workshop.

After the robbery was committed, the owner of the vehicle filed the corresponding complaint at the Civil Guard Post of Cartagena, taking charge of the investigation by the Judicial Police Team of said post.

All the inquiries of the agents led them to Madrid, requesting the support of the Paracuellos del Jarama counterpart team, which last week managed to locate a warehouse whose activity was declared as a mechanical workshop.

At the time of carrying out the inspection of the place, the people who were inside closed the establishment, refusing to allow access to the Civil Guard agents.

After obtaining the required authorization, the warehouse was opened, where five people were found inside, finding sportswear and 22 bicycles in an industrial paint booth whose serial numbers matched those provided by the victim in Cartagena. , a fact that led to the arrest of the five individuals and their transfer to Civil Guard units.

To travel to Cartagena, the detainees rented a van and used the car of a client who was in the workshop, a fact that has allowed the agents to locate the group responsible for the act.

The detainees are five men who have established their residence in the Community of Madrid, three of them with a record for various crimes. The recovered effects have already been delivered to their rightful owner.
