The passage around the hermitage of Sant Martà Xic is fantastic, with the fog, the Pubilla, which covers the Plana de Vic, the mountains standing out and the spring flowers giving a touch of color and aroma in the foreground.
In Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia we can contemplate in this way the beautiful great paradox of Sant Martà Xic, which, being a very small hermitage, has a very wide landscape horizon around it.
This hermitage was initially known as Sant Martà de Voltregà or Sant Martà del Castell, but it ended up imposing the popular nomenclature of Sant Martà Xic (that is, small) given its size.
The lack of worship led to the abandonment and subsequent ruin of the chapel, until it was restored in 1984. This hermitage, in the municipal area of Las Masies de Voltregà (Osona), is included in the Inventory of the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia.
At the top of the nearest mound stood the castle of Voltregà , of which only a few ruins remain today. In fact, in the past, a wall included this hermitage within the fortification enclosure.
